INYO350 is a local chapter of the international organization was founded in 2008 by a group of university friends in the United States along with author Bill McKibben, who wrote one of the first books on global warming for the general public. The goal was to build a global climate movement. 350 was named after 350 parts per million — the safe concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

The mission of INYO350 is to promote environmental protection and social & economic justice through policy influence, education, and direct action.

Our vision is clean air and protected water rights, equal access to employment and citizenship, justice for all community members and honoring the Mother Earth that we all depend on.

The goal of INYO350 is to foster the inner activist in all. Anyone with a personal vision of a better future can make it happen, and we are here to help.
