As you probably know, no candidate in either of the Georgia US Senate races reached the required 50% of the votes cast, so there will be an unprecedented double runoff election January 5, 2021. This is the only shot Democrats have of gaining the slimmest of margins in the US Senate, so it’s all hands on deck! We have to make sure Georgians return to the polls in the same huge numbers they did for the general election on November 3rd. As you can imagine, there is a lot of interest in this race, and many texting opportunities are already filled to capacity, but here is a list of opportunities to get involved in this epic battle. Time is short, and these groups need our help right now!
Working with Flip the West, you’ll send postcards to voters, which is a nice personal touch!
The Civics Center is focusing on brand new voters by sending postcards to recent high school graduates. They will even have Zoom post carding parties, which sounds like fun! For every $8 you donate, TCC will send you 20 postcards and addresses.
With Vote Forward, you print out form letters and add your own personalized message. Easy!
The Environmental Voter Project focuses on getting unlikely-to-vote environmentalists to the polls through texting and phone banking.
Voting in Georgia requires a photo ID. Spread the Vote helps voters through the process and even pays associated fees.
