The Environmental Action Group has about 30 active members. Amongst the group are smaller action teams who focus on a variety of local issues. Some of these issues concern recycling, zero waste, solar energy, Green Business Certification, and the Adventure Trails project. The group is often shifting to the latest issues affecting our community.
Public Lands and Wildlife is an area that the group is always focusing on. The Trump administration has constantly been attacking our public lands and environment. Issues like the Executive Order to review national monuments, public land agency budget cuts, and the administration’s attempts at de-regulation of so many environmental protection measures. This group is attempting to track issues, proposals, and bills that are being taken up by Congress and/or the Executive Branch. They are exploring how they can best help in the protection of our magnificent local public lands.
The Environmental Group sponsors the annual Earth Day celebration. They coordinate events leading up to this event, such as film screenings and speakers.
