A Mosaic for Climate Adaptation
Climate Refugia: Forests, Birds and a Renewed Kinship with Earth
What are the current challenges and opportunities for adapting to the climate emergency? How can we re-wild lost and degraded habitats ravaged by climate change, including recent mega-fires?
Deanna Dulen has rich experience from her nearly 40 years of public service, including Superintendent of Devils Postpile National Monument and Director of the Mono Basin Scenic Area Visitor Center. During her tenure she contributed leadership in resource stewardship and climate change adaptation, with a focus on climate refugia research and fire and fuels management.
Learn about the emerging fields of Climate Refugia and fire recovery science. Hear about experimental efforts in collaborating with birds to restore lost forests. Deanna will also present concepts from two important climate refugia publications that integrate collaborative science and management.
